Research and Development
Research and development are an integral part of Topdental and vitally important to ensure continuous supply of the most competitive and modern products on the market.
The Topdental Research and Development team actively develop formulations to meet the Infection Control requirements of Dental practices around the world.
The team is actively involved in many areas, for example, formulation development, microbiological testing, product stability, material compatibility, evaluation of chemical raw materials and application testing of new products at Dental practices.
Product Testing
The microbiological efficacy of products is an area which Topdental continually advance and keep up to date with the latest Medical Device and BPR requirements. It’s of paramount importance that Infection Control products are tested to the latest European Standards (EN Standards).
The R&D team at Topdental tests all disinfectant products with ISO 17025 accredited laboratories against bacteria, yeast, and viruses according to the latest EN standards. To name just a few EN standards we continually test against: EN13727 (Bactericidal), EN13624 (Yeasticidal) and EN14476 (Virucidal).
Ethical approach
In addition to product performance, Topdental continually evaluate the Environmental impact and safety of raw materials used within formulations.
Topdental identify raw materials which are derived from non-renewable resources and replace with biobased ingredients, for example, ingredients derived from glucose and naturally occurring amino acids.
The R&D team additionally look to identify raw materials that could potentially cause harm to users, and replace with safer alternatives, to ensure peace of mind when using our range of Infection Control products.
